In Remembrance: Frank L. Kennard ’43 Died on April 19 2014

Frank Kennard (TC) passed away on April 19, 2014, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly. He is survived by eight children, 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, Frank graduated from Yale with a BS in economics. Commissioned in the US Army, he was a member of the 2nd Ranger Battalion in World War II; he participated in D-Day and subsequent campaigns until the end of the war in Europe when he was discharged as a first lieutenant. He served as a bank executive for Union Commerce Bank of Cleveland and later Huntington Bank of Columbus. Formerly of Independence and Shaker Heights, Ohio, he and Polly retired to Keowee Key, South Carolina, before returning to Columbus in 2001.
