ObituariesIn Remembrance: Alfred L. McDougal ’53 Died on May 23 2014Alfred L. McDougal passed away May 23, 2014, at his home in Chicago. He was 83. He cofounded McDougal, Littell & Co., in 1969, which became the largest privately held educational textbook publisher in the country, until it was sold to Houghton Mifflin in the early 1990s. He and his wife also helped establish the McDougal Graduate Center at Yale, which provides sevices, facilities, and programming for graduate students.
