ObituariesIn Remembrance: Albert James Stunkard ’43 Died on July 12 2014Dr. Albert J. Stunkard, a pioneer of eating-disorder research, died at home July 12, 2014, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He was 92. Dr. Stunkard spent much time studying obesity, its causes and its effects. He proved that some people were genetically predisposed to obesity; he was the first to identify binge eating as a medical disorder; and he was one of the first to link obesity to socioeconomic factors.
