In Remembrance: John J. Bergan ’49 Died on June 11 2014

Renowned vascular surgeon John J. Bergan died June 11, 2014, in Chicago. He was 87. One of the pioneers in organ transplantation, he is credited with performing the first kidney transplant, in 1964 at Northwestern University.
