During my time as the Master of Trumbull College (1982-1987) it was an honor and a pleasure to meet Trumbull Fellows from all departments of the university. Howard was an outstanding and loyal Fellow. I always enjoyed our times together. He was a man with an enormous range of interests. He was a member of the Trumbull College Symphony Orchestra, and was a keen student in the Yoga classes given by my wife, Pamela. He was a true scholar and a man of genuine modesty – a man for all seasons.
Frank Firk, Professor Emeritus of Physics
