After completing his undergraduate degree at Harvard, he enrolled in the Navy's rigorous and secret Japanese language program. He served as a translator during the war and in occupied Japan. Eventually, he returned to the United States and attended Yale Law School. A full obituary was published by the San Francisco Chronicle on Jan. 11, 2015. |
