Born in Hackensack, NJ, and formerly a resident of Lexington, MA, he passed away at his home in Marco Island, Florida. He worked in both Sierra Leone and Malaysia as one of the first Peace Corps medical volunteers, and was eventually appointed director of the organization's Far East Medical Desk in Washington, D.C.
