He began teaching law at Vanderbilt University in 1972 and taught his final class on April 26, 2017, as a Visiting Professor at the University of San Francisco. He wore hats that he found on the street from all over the world. Once, he invited any and all others who shared the name Neil Cohen to a dinner in New York. The obituary was carried in the Marin Independent Journal on May 17, 2017. |

Neil and I were best friends from age 6. Best Man in my wedding in '68 and an inspiration to all who knew him. We stayed in touch throughout his career of caring and his enthusiasm for all entertainment that included his own talents in music and Texas Holdem! Everybody should have at least one Best Pal, and I had the very best.
