In Remembrance: Ruth Hooke '56MDiv Died on May 20 2017

Ruth Hooke '56MDiv passed away on May 20, 2017 in Chelsea, Vermont.  She cofounded Project Second Start in Concord, New Hampshire, a program for undereducated women.  In 1974 she began working at the University Without Walls, where she was described as "the soul of the program."  In 1990 she won an award for outstanding advising from the National Council for Academic Advisors.  She was, in many other formal capacities as well, an activist and educator, including the Raging Grannies, and the Alternatives to Violence Project.
