After running off to the circus for a period of time, he still managed to graduate from high school and later graduate from Yale College. He went on to join General Electric in Cincinnati as a metallurgist in R&D. Bill traveled much throughout his career and played a major role in significant projects, including the forging of the nosecones for the NASA spacecraft which carried the first men to the moon and sourcing and forging titanium for the top-secret SR-71 Blackbird Project.
