ObituariesIn Remembrance: David R. Hyde ’51, ’54LLB Died on August 2 2018David R. Hyde died at home in East Dorset, Vermont, on August 2, 2018. He was 88. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, David Hyde was a graduate of Yale College (BA 1951) and Yale Law School (LLB 1954), where he was editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal. He began his distinguished legal career in 1954 at the New York firm Cahill, Gordon & Reindel, where he worked until his retirement in 1990. He served as assistant US attorney for the Southern District of New York for four years, from 1959 to 1963, the last two years as chief of its Civil Division. After his retirement, he lived in southern Vermont, where he had long been a seasonal resident, but continued to travel as he had done all his life. He is survived by his wife Valerie, his daughter Meredith, son Timothy, and his four grandchildren: Justin, Kit, India, and Elias. A private memorial will be held in New York City.
