In Remembrance: Herbert D. Kleber Died on October 5 2018

Herbert D. Kleber passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2018, while vacationing with his family in Greece. A member of the Yale psychiatry faculty from 1968 to 1989, Kleber founded and ran the Drug Dependence Unit at Yale University. He was a pioneer in research and treatment of addiction, contributing to the emergence of addiction and substance abuse disorders as a focus of clinical medicine.

Yale's Department of Psychiatry issued a tribute on October 10, 2018; an obituary appeared in the New York Times on October 11, 2018.
