In Remembrance: David Shanno ’59 Died on July 14 2019

David Shanno passed away on July 14, 2019. At Yale, Shanno studied mathematics and philosophy, and went on to receive his doctorate in applied math at Carnegie Mellon in 1967. Shanno spent the majority of his career in teaching— joining the faculty at many prestigious institutions nationwide. Shanno settled down at Rutgers in 1986 where he worked until his retirement in 2008. In his free time, Shanno enjoyed traveling, music, art and eating meals with his close friends and family. He also volunteered at the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope.
