1 remembrance
I was a student with George. I remember him very well and always perceived him to be intelligent, thoughtful, and a very invested artist. He spent long hours in his studio.
I heard he ate two hot dogs for dinner every night.
I once went to his studio and looked at a beautiful long scroll drawing on the wall and he showed me phone books that had his ink drawings on each page.
When I left and said goodbye, he reassured me that I would learn in time the language of critiquing paintings and drawings.
He was right.
Whenever we passed he always asked me how my work was going.
That’s about all I remember, but I have thought of him kindly over the years and was saddened to hear of his passing.
