In Remembrance: Kimberly Orr Cook ’59 Died on December 15 2019

Kimberly Orr Cook, aged 82, passed away on December 15, 2019, in his hometown of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Born on July 17, 1937, Kim spent his childhood years in Winnetka, Illinois, graduated from New Trier High School, attended Yale University, and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1962. He was the president and founder of Southern Marketing, a promotional sales business based in western North Carolina, for over 20 years. Chicago and childhood friendships remained greatly important to Kim. He was a diehard Cubs and Blackhawks fan and helped organize many high school reunions throughout his life.

Kim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice C. Cook, with whom he shared a passion for international travel and square dancing. He is also survived by his three daughters, Ashley Cook (North Carolina), Courtney Cook (Maine) and Jennifer Cook (California), and two grandchildren, Samuel and Vivian Rallis. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his keen mind, wonderful sense of humor, and playful spirit.
