In Remembrance: Boardman Lloyd ’64 Died on May 17 2024

Boardman “Boardy” Lloyd passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024; he was 82.  Boardy was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and always had a twinkle in his eye. An attorney, he was a trusted, thoughtful, and respected lawyer working at Casey, Lane & Mittendorf in New York City, then as a partner at Choate Hall & Stewart in Boston, Massachusetts, and later as a partner at Harris and Lloyd in Cambridge, Massachusetts, until his retirement.

Born on January 8, 1942, in Concord, New Hampshire, Boardy graduated from St. Paul School in 1960, having spent his eighth-grade year at Le Rosey in Switzerland. He graduated from Yale University in 1964. He was a gifted athlete and played #3 forward wing on the varsity hockey team and rowed crew.  Boardy was in Jonathan Edwards College, Fence Club, and St. Anthony’s.  He received a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1967. 

Boardy is survived by his wife, Lyn Conforti Lloyd; his two daughters (from his previous marriage to Barbara Lloyd), Pamela Boardman Lloyd ’90 (Renny Gleeson ’‘90) and Emily Lloyd Shaw (Simon Shaw); grandchildren Jasper Gleeson, Rufus Gleeson, Sophie Shaw, and Willow Shaw; his brother, Francis Vernon Lloyd III ’59 (Lida Lloyd); sister Mary Emlen Lowell Lloyd Zaragoza (Joseph Zaragoza); stepchildren Andralyn Farro (William Ominsky) and Jay Farro (fiancée Dalia Ashurina); and step-grandchildren Matthew Farro and Dylan Ominsky. He was preceded in death by his brother, Malcolm Lloyd and daughter, Amy Lloyd. 

A memorial service was held at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, on July 18. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
