In Remembrance: Michael Schuchat ’45W Died on July 5 2013

Michael A Schuchat, a lawyer and for 51 years legal editor of the Daily Washington Law Reporter, died July 5, 2013, at the age of 88.

The Washington Post published a story on July 20, 2013.

His son, Simon Schuchat ’83MA, wrote, "Yale was important for my father.  ’45W was a somewhat unique class at Yale, since its members were probably never all on campus at the same time.  My father lived in Pierson College during his time at Yale.  His degree was in engineering.  I don't have them to hand, but he sent in sketches for several of the ’45W reunion books (maybe 40th and definitely 50th).  

"The Post obituary does not note it, but after his graduation and commissioning as an ensign in the navy in (I believe) January 1945, my father saw action in the Pacific and was present in Tokyo Bay as part of the surrender ceremony flotilla."
