In Remembrance: Cynthia Taft Morris ’59PhD Died on July 16 2013

Cynthia Taft Morris, a profesosr of economics at American University and Smith College who was the granddaughter of former President William Howard Taft, passed away in her home in Washington, D.C. on July 16, 2013. She was 85. Although she became paralyzed from the waist down by polio in 1942, Morris managed to pursue an undergraduate degree at Vassar, a master's at the London School of Economics, and a doctorate at Yale and eventually consult for the U.S. Agency for International Development and for USAID.
