He was a world-renowned expert in development economics, with more than 20 books and 300 articles to his credit. At Yale he had been the director of the Yale Center for International and Area Studies (now the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center) and of the Economic Growth Center. An obituary appeared in the New Haven Register on October 16, 2013, and Yale University posted a memorial tribute to him, also on October 16. |
