In Remembrance: Richard Karl Myler ’56 Died on October 9 2013

Richard Karl Myler, a founder of the San Francisco Heart Institute who pioneered interventional cardiology by performing the first-ever coronary angioplasty, passed away on October 9, 2013. He was 77. Over the course of his career, he taught thousands of cardiologists to perform coronary angioplasty, and the procedure has since become a common technique at hospitals around the world.
