Hub New Music turns ten

On December 4, 2024, the Dome at Yale Schwarzman Center filled with energy as
Hub New Music celebrated its 10th anniversary with two concerts delivering fresh, inventive sounds. The quartet treated listeners to a vibrant array of new, twenty-first-century compositions. A world premiere of “Hubbub I–VII” by Andrew Norman ’09MusAD established a joyously chaotic musical storyline for the evening’s repertoire, which also included new works by composer Donnacha Dennehy and many others. Norman and Dennehy engaged in a post-concert Q&A moderated by music history PhD candidate Allison Chu. With bold artistry and alumni talent on full display, Hub’s performances reaffirmed the ensemble’s trailblazing presence in contemporary classical music.
