Yale Rep and YSD artists featured in Rep performance

As part of its annual No Boundaries performance series, Yale Rep presented the critically acclaimed production of Sleep for three performances, March 1–3. Sleep was adapted by Yale-commissioned artist Naomi Iizuka from the short story by Haruki Murakami, and devised and directed by Rachel Dickstein ’92 and Ripe Time, the OBIE Award–winning, ensemble-based theater company that creates large-scale, multidisciplinary events celebrating women’s dreams and awakenings. The production features the work of many artists with connections to Yale Rep and the School of Drama, including costume designer Ilona Somogyi ’94MFA (faculty), lighting designer Ji-youn Chang ’08MFA, and projections designer Hannah Wasileski ’13MFA. The six-performer ensemble includes Yale Rep–commissioned artist Jiehae Park, whose play peerless had its world premiere at Yale Rep in 2015. Yale Rep’s No Boundaries series presents cutting-edge and thought-provoking performance from around the world to explore the frontiers of theatrical invention.
