Student consulting group works with local organizations during pandemic

Student members of the Social Impact Consulting Club worked with a number of New Haven social enterprises during the 2020–21 academic year, as the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the organizations and their missions in the city. Every year, students from the club act as pro bono consultants for a variety of local nonprofits and social enterprises in the Greater New Haven area. Last spring Dean Kerwin K. Charles cited the club as one of the winners of the 2021 Dean’s Mission & Impact Award, which recognizes students from the graduating class whose actions exemplify the schools mission to educate leaders for business and society.

Students born abroad constitute 34 percent of the class, and veterans and active-duty members of the military comprise 8 percent of the class. For the remainder of their first year, students will attend classes every other weekend while continuing their professional lives.
