Celebrating YSN’s new Simulation Lab

On August 30, Yale School of Nursing celebrated the completion of the Simulation Lab and classroom expansion project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by President Peter Salovey. The $5 million project involved over 8,000 square feet of renovated space and was completed in less than one year in order to be ready for the fall 2018 incoming class of students.

Gift supports the next generation of nurses at Yale

A donation to the Yale School of Nursing will create the Gruber Nursing Fellowship Fund, which will provide full tuition for students who exhibit promise as future innovators and leaders in the field of nursing. This $3 million gift from philanthropist Patricia Gruber is the school’s largest ever from a living donor.

Yale College alums endow fund for nursing innovation

A new permanent fund at the Nursing School will enable one YSN faculty member each year to undertake a cutting-edge project or pursue a new research idea, in a field that promises to have meaningful impact. The fund is endowed by alumni Thomas (’83) and Wendy (’83) Naratil.

Retired YSN professor receives the American Academy of Nursing’s highest honor

The American Academy of Nursing has named Dr. Ruth McCorkle a “Living Legend” in recognition of her extraordinary, sustained contributions to the nursing profession. Dr. McCorkle, who retired from YSN in June following a distinguished career as an oncology, palliative care, and hospice nurse, is one of seven nurse leaders to have been selected in 2018.

Connecticut Nurses honor YSN professor

Dr. Jessica Coviello ’82MSN has been chosen to receive the 2018 Florence S. Wald Award by the Connecticut Nurses’ Association in recognition of her outstanding contributions to nursing practice.
