Professor attends White House meeting

YSN professor and associate dean for academic affairs Barbara Guthrie was invited to a meeting at the White House in December to be part of a discussion on “Strengthening Victim Services for Survivors of Human Trafficking.” Said Guthrie, “I felt very honored to participate in this timely summit, which will lead to national position papers that will include strategies and recommendations for future policies. This will not only shine a light on this growing social and health problem but will also lead to collaborative efforts to create safe, healthy, and nonviolent environments for all children and youth, irrespective of the ethnicity, social class, environmental context, sexual identity, and gender.”
